Specialist Psychologist and Psychotherapist Elif Demirer graduated in 2007. Demirer, who completed her clinical internship at Bakirkoy Psychiatric Hospital, worked with Prof. Dr. Kemal Sayar in the 13th Adolescent Inpatient Service and she was involved in the case analysis processes in the adult inpatient service under the clinical chief of Prof. Dr. Medaim Yanik.
During her undergraduate education, she gained experience by working voluntarily in various educational institutions, counseling centers and in the field of special education. In 2008, she completed the child-adolescent mental health diagnosis and treatment processes training supervision from Prof. Dr. Mucahit Ozturk and started to accept child and adolescent clients at the Psychoacademy and Reflexology Counseling Center. She proceeded her studies in the field of child and adolescent mental health in the areas of depression, adjustment and behavioural problems, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder and learning difficulties.
Demirer, who started her play therapy training process with Associate Professor Selen Ayas Butun and Clinical Psychologist Mehmet Teber, received Experiential Play Therapy 1st and 2nd level trainings and Association for Play Therapy (APT) – approved introductory play therapy training. Demirer, who received Child-Centered Play Therapy training within the Play Therapy Institute, received 1st Level Theraplay and MIM (Marschak Interaction Method) Training and Group Theraplay Training approved by The Theraplay Institute and the International Association of Play Therapy and Group Theraplay Training under Nadis Education Consultancy. In order to contribute to her professional skills, Demirer completed training on applying various psychological tests in the field of child and adolescent mental health (C.A.T and Louisa Duss, DENVER II Developmental Screening Test, AGTE, TKT, Frostig Visual Perception Test, Metropolitan School Readiness Test, WISC-R).
